Rotary erects Covid-19 warriors’ statue

DEOLALI CAMP: A Covid19 warriors statue was inaugurated on Friday at Cantonment General Hospital’s entrance to honour the doctors and all the health workers for their outstanding work in fighting the pandemic. Rotary Club of Deolali erected the statue outside CGH, and various doctors, frontline workers, board members, and others were present for the inauguration ceremony. Ajay Kumar, CEO of Cantonment Board of Deolali, while addressing the crowd, stated that the work done by the doctors and the complete health department is commendable.

The future generation will be well-aware of their hard work and determination due to Rotary Club’s noble initiative. In the introductory speech, Rotary President Murli Raghavan said that the future generation should remember the sacrifices made by the doctors and health workers during the last one and a half years to express gratitude.

He added that the relationship between Rotary and social service is inseparable. Entrepreneur Maharaj Birmani chaired the ceremony. Deputy Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Sonawane, Dr. Jayshree Natesh, Naresh Doshi, Dr. Arun Swadi, Adv. Ashok Adke, Anna Nagarkar, Retired Brigadier Anil Garg, Anant Athani, Jayaraman Sundaraman, Sandhya Raghavan, Rani Walia, Mohandas Kamat, Amod Shahane, Colonel Ashok Shirgaonkar, etc. were present at the ceremony. Secretary Dr. Anil Kanade moderated the event and proposed the vote of thanks.
