According Assistant Superintendent of Police Mangal Singh Suryavanshi said the government has announced a lockdown across the country since March 23 following a public curfew on March 22 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Citizens are prohibited from communicating except for essential services during the lockdown period. In spite of this, many youths, as well as citizens, are travelling on two-wheelers for whatever reason.

Police have tightened curfew in the city after five patients tested positive for corona, mainly in areas where patients have been found. Barricading has also been set up in important squares across the city.

However, taking advantage of the partial relaxation given by the government, many violated the curfew law. Against this backdrop, the Commissioner of Police had ordered the confiscation of the vehicles. Accordingly, various police stations have seized more than 300 vehicles. Along with the police of the police station and the employees of the transport, the branch is working in various places in the city.

Also, patrol squads are constantly patrolling and the employees of the transport branch have confiscated the vehicles and imposed punitive action on several vehicles. Accordingly, action has been taken against thousands of vehicles since March 23 and a fine of Rs 15 lakh 5 thousand two hundred has been imposed on them. Out of this, a fine of Rs 2 lakh 83 thousand 200 has been recovered in cash and E-challans worth Rs 12 lakh 22 thousand 600 have been given up.

Accordingly, the driver has been fined online and his SMS has been sent to him. Police are urging citizens not to leave their homes without any reason. It is important to avoid going out of the house during the lockdown. But many civilians have been found driving around for no reason. The transport department took punitive action against them. It is not our intention to collect fines. Citizens should stay at home to save their lives, not out of fear of punishment.
