Cops recover fake play currency

A speeding car hit another four-wheeler and a two-wheeler near Untwadi in Ambad police station limits on Wednesday and the cops recovered fake currency notes from the car.

The police found the bag full of currency of face value of Rs 2,000 and Rs 500.

As per details, a speeding Maruti Swift D’zire car bearing no. MH-01 AE-9810, being driven by Chandrakant Ambadas Dahije, resident of Tidke Colony hit another four-wheeler bearing no.MH-15 GA-7806 and a two-wheeler bearing no. MH-15 FW-7703 on Wednesday night. Two-wheeler rider Amol Burkule sustained injuries in the said accident.

Some citizens who were present at the spot saw that there was a bundle of notes in the Swift D’zire car and they informed Ambad police about this. The Ambad police then seized the car.

However, as the information about crores of cash found in a four-wheeler went viral on social media, there was excitement among the locals. When the police opened the said money bag, it was found that it contained notes meant for children to play with and ‘Children’s Bank of India’ was mentioned on it.

The police registered a case of an accident in this regard. Assistant police inspector Ganesh Shinde is conducting a further probe into this matter.
