East Forest Division to provide accommodation for tourists
Nashik: Nashik district’s forest reserve for the conservation of the blackbucks in the Yeola tehsil, Mamdapur-Rajapur forest reserve will soon become tourist-friendly. The East Forest Division will soon provide accommodation facility at Mamdapur, Rajapur and Devdhari.
The tourists can now see the blackbucks and deer in their natural habitat. The rest rooms will be very soon available for the tourists. It is expected that the tourist footfall will increase in the area after availability of this facility. The forest reserve of Mamdapur-Rajapur got fund of Rs 4 crores for its development works, in 2016.
For the last three years, the development works are going on in the area. The East Forest Division of Nashik has strengthened the pathways, solar lamps installation process on both the sides is on war footing, water reserves have been created. The area is blessed with presence of peacocks, wolfs, blackbucks as well as different types of bird, flora and fauna.
The forest department has erected watch towers at all three places for tourists to give bird’s eye view of the area. The cycle track is also under development at Rajapur. The food will also be provided by the forest department so that the tourists will enjoy their meals in natural surroundings.
The Devdhari rest rooms will be available within next three to four months for the tourists. The work is in final stage. The accommodation at Rajapur and Mamdapur will be available within next six to eight months.
Bunker beds and Tents
The East Forest Division has made available accommodation for around 200 tourists including of all the three places. There will be bunk beds in rooms for the tourists. The tourists can also take joy of tents at Rajapur and Devdhari.
The beautification work of Warpati Lake has been under taken. The tourists can also enjoy local food at canteens made by forest division at all the three places. It is expected that the move will give boost to tourism in Yeola tehsil. Marketing of the initiative The East Forest Zone of Nashik erected a stall in Krishithon exhibition, to spread a word about the forest reserve.
To increase the tourism in Mamdapur-Rajapur Forest Reserve in Yeola tehsil, the step was taken by the officials. It got a very good response from people around 2,500 people visited the stall and 250 registered with east forest division. The officials are also getting calls regarding their project on daily basis.
“The forest reserve is in development process under eco tourism. We are planning a full fledge tourism hot spot at the reserve, where the tourist can enjoy the nature here. The development has been don in such a way that it will not intervene in natural habitat of the blackbucks and other animals. The tehsil is dry region and agriculture is dependent on monsoon. It is expected that the increased footfall of tourist will create employment opportunities in this part.”
