Mayor instructs to make roads free of potholes

Nashik: Mayor Satish Kulkarni called a meeting of construction and garden department in his cell on Monday to review roads and gardens in Nashik city. Deputy Mayor Bhikubai Bagul, standing committee chairperson Uddhav Nimse, house leader Satish Sonawane, corporator Shivaji Gangurde, additional municipal commissioner Sandip Nalavade, city engineer Sanjay Ghuge, executive engineer Satish Hiray, garden department chief Shivaji Amle, deputy engineers and branch engineers were present.

Discussions over the roads and gardens-related subjects were discussed in the meeting. Following this, the Mayor instructed officials to make roads in the city free of potholes by January 1, 2020, to fill up potholes on the new roads from concerned contractors which will be constructed.

He also instructed that while doing this the quality of the roads should be maintained. The Mayor also instructed that roads will be cleaned before tarring, to remove grass in vacant spaces, gardens and jogging tracks on war footing, take action against those dumping debris along the roadside and make a planning to dump it outside the city, to take measures for cleanliness of nullahs and take precaution that drainage water should not be mixed into them and to prune branches of trees causing obstacle to street lights.
