Around 1.5 hectares of the region got burnt in the fire, however, no major loss has been reported. The fire broke out at around 3:30 in the afternoon on Sunday.  The forest officials got the call from a stranger who reported the fire.

The officials with the volunteers of the Nana Saheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan reached the spot around 4 pm and started extinguishing the fire. The forest department and the NGO had already dug the trenches to prevent such forest fires.

Around 5:30 the team successfully controlled the fire. The forest officials suspect that miscreants must have created the fire. The department is inquiring about the incidents. The saplings were planted about 4 years ago and are being taken care of by the NGO. The saplings have now grown to about 10 to 15 feet in height.
