Cyber security project being planned in state: CM Shinde

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced plans for a state-of-the-art cyber project, valued at 837 crores, aimed at tackling evolving cybercrime in the digital age. The project encompasses a command and control centre, technology-assisted investigation, a centre of excellence, cloud-based data centre, and a security operation centre.

All cyber police stations in the state will be connected, enabling the swift handling of complaints via a 24/7 call centre through phone, mobile apps, or portals. The Chief Minister was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the 34th state Police Games 2024 at Maharashtra Police Academy here.

To bolster the police force, recruitment for approximately 17,000 constable positions has commenced. Shinde also unveiled a housing loan scheme for police construction projects and the formation of establishment boards for the police communication and information technology department and the motor transport department.

Formally inauguratint he games Shinde lit the sports torch and emphasized the importance of Maharashtra police participating in international sporting events.

He commended the state police force for its dedication to protecting the honest and eliminating wrongdoing. Shinde urged police players to excel in sports, promoting teamwork and unity among officials and personnel. The event was attended by several officials, including Guardian Minister Dada Bhuse, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, and other dignitaries.
