Different scheme for farmers having loan over Rs 2 lakh: Bhujbal

Nashik: A total of 30.57 lakh farmers in the state will get a loan waiver of Rs 21,216 crore in loan waiver scheme announced by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

A different scheme is being planned for those farmers who repaying loan regularly and have a loan over Rs 2 lakh, informed state Rural Development Minister Chhagan Bhujbal on Wednesday. Instructions have been issued to the district administration to take precaution for providing the benefit of the loan waiver scheme this time, he added.

Bhujbal who was on the Nashik district tour interacted with the media persons. Earlier, he held discussions with the divisional commissioner, District Collector and Municipal Commissioner over various issues in Nashik city and district.

”Nashik district received Rs 650 crore as a part of the loan waiver announced by the then BJP government. Though it was expected to give it for crop loan of Kharif season, in actual Rs 250 crore was disbursed to farmers. I raised a voice over this in the state assembly.

However, every farmer will get the benefit of the loan waiver announced by our government”, Bhujbal said. Under the Shiv Bhojan scheme, the land will not be provided to organizations because past experience about this was bitter.

It will be mandatory to give food to around 500 citizens. The contract will mainly be offered to Women Self Help Groups. The government will provide a subsidy of Rs 40 in the urban area, while Rs 25 in the rural area.

A separate team will be formed to supervise the scheme, he also informed. Over the expansion of the state cabinet, Bhujbal stated that expansion will be held on December 30. There are no differences among parties over the expansion. Portfolios will be allotted on the same day.

The state government will provide help for industries. Precaution will be taken that not a single industry would not shut. The previous government showed that it shut toll plazas, but those toll plazas on Mumbai-Agra highway about concern was made were not shut, he said.

Potholes on road is a subject of conflict. Earlier, roads were constructed on Build, Operate and Transfer basis. The concerned company was repairing them, but after shutting of toll plazas, there is no fund for road repair.

The then government handed over many important roads to National Highway Authority of India, he said. Over a question about Nashik, Bhujbal stated that to increase connectivity of Nashik all roads have been made four-lane. A flyover was constructed.

Airport was developed. Internal and external roads were connected by ring roads. Development works like boat club, Kalagram, dam resort, trolley were done. Some works in them are incomplete. Efforts will be made to complete them. The development works will be done as per people’s demand, Bhujbal made it clear.
