NASHIK: The untimely rainfall activities have once again made their presence felt in various parts of city early morning yesterday and in the evening. For the last two days, the city was witnessing cloudy skies.
The early morning light drizzles in Cidco and in other parts of the city followed by evening showers at around 6 pm at isolated places in the city have shown fluctuating weather patterns that causing easing of cold conditions.
Apart from Nashik, scattered rains from moderate to heavy were also experienced in parts of Mumbai city and its sub-urb, Pimpari-Chinchwad and Aurangabad region. Earlier the IMD had predicted rainfall in the state for the next two days.
Agricultural experts say that the unseasonal rains are more likely to afffect rabi crop.
In the district, rains lashed isolated places including Sinnar where heavy rainfall recorded yesterday evening damaging crop severely. The rains also lashed talukas of Yeola, Igatpuri, Nandgaon, Chandwad and Deola.
In Sinnar taluka, villages of Fardarpur, Mendhi, Panchale, Devpur, Dharangaon, Thangaon and Padli received heavy rains with water accumulation at several farm fields. Meanwhile, Colaba meteorological centre has predicted rainfall for the next two days in parts of Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra.
The State has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the past many days. However, looks like, things are about to change as rainfall activities will once again make their presence felt in the state.
As per weather models, there are two weather systems, which will result in scattered rains over the region. Another set of unseasonal rains have already lashed the state.
Talking about the weather systems, a Trough is seen from Lakshadweep up to North Coastal Maharashtra. A Confluence Zone has also developed over North Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha. Due to this, rains have been seen in the cities of Nashik, Malegaon, Pune, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Dahanu, Nagpur, Akola and Amravati until today (December 26).
Due to rains, minimums will settle above normal for the coming days. However, once rains subside, northerly/northeasterly winds would once again result in drop in the night temperatures.
