In the first phase, a total of 20 e-charging stations will be set up in Nashik city and an expenditure of Rs. 7.5 crore is expected for this. This expenditure will be done under the Central government’s ‘N Cap’ scheme (National Clean Air Programme). The e-charging station construction work, which has been stalled for the past year, will soon be completed and a Delhi-based company
has been qualified for it.
Central and state governments are promoting electric vehicles to avoid pollution. A huge subsidy is being given on the purchase of e-vehicles. The number of people preferring electric vehicles in Nashik city is also increasing day by day. Given that, the Municipal Corporation will set up a total of 106 electric charging stations in the city under ‘N Cap’ scheme in the next few years. Out of them, 20 stations will be set up in the first phase.
For this purpose, municipal electricity department floated tender process for three times in the last year. Bigger companies like Tata amd Reliance responded to it. But they were disqualified in document completion and technical inspection.
Six companies participated in the tender process which was floated for the third time.Thereater, a Delhi-based company has been qualified in the technical inspection. This company has already set up charging stations in many cities of the country.
After completion of some more documents, this company will be given the job and construction of the charging station will be started soon. Municipal Corporation will provide space for it.
