Department of Maharashtra Cyber crime has registered a total of 196 offences till April 14 during lockdown, sources said.
As per the Cyber crime Department sources, some anti-social elements in the state are trying to exploit the situation.
The Maharashtra cyber department is closely monitoring the misconduct on Twitter, Facebook, Twitter and other social media, including Whatsapp.
Of the 196 crimes, eight are inadmissible. As many as 93 cases have been registered against those forwarding offensive WhatsApp messages.
Cases have been registered in connection with offensive Facebook posts, Titktok videos, objectionable Tweets and misuse of other social media (audio clips, youtube). A total of 37 accused have been arrested so far, the sources said.
