NASHIK :

The number of coronavirus positive patients in Nashik district has increased to 360. As a result, the district is included in the red zone. Discussions were rife that Nashik Municipal Corporation and other areas in the district, barring Malegaon city area would be included in the orange zone. Maharashtra, which has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in India, has not allowed easing of any restrictions in the third phase of the two-week lockdown that starts today.  The state government has issued revised norms to be applicable after May 3.

Other shops and liquor shops outside containment zones in Nashik district will be opened. Only three people in one car would be allowed to travel. No pillion riders will be permitted on two-wheelers; industrial units in urban areas, only in the special economic zone (SEZ), Export Oriented Units (EOU), the supply of all goods, and supply of goods through e-commerce service are permitted.

Private offices are allowed to operate with 33% strength. All agriculture-related transactions, banks and financial institutions are permitted to open. Courier and postal services will continue to operate. Along with shops selling essential commodities, five stand-alone shops selling other material in single-lane are permitted to open.

A single liquor shop is among them. However, over five shops selling essential commodities in a single lane cannot be opened. Shopping malls, hotels, restaurants and shops in market areas will remain close.

District Collector will decide over liquor shops. District administration will take a decision over to open liquor shops and other shops in Nashik municipal area and rest district, barring Malegaon or not. Guidelines about this will be issued.
