The MSEDCL consumers primarily pay their electricity bills through cheque even if the online facility is available. However, due to the Novel coronavirus pandemic, the lockdown has affected the banking transactions.

“Considering this situation, MSEDCL has given the option of RTGS and NEFT for consumers having a bill of Rs 10,000 and above. Even the single and three-phase residential consumers having a bill of Rs 10,000 and above, can make payment through this system. Along with this, the consumers can make online payment through credit card, net banking, debit card, google pay, cash card, UPI, digital wallet etc.,” the MSEDCL official said.

MSEDCL will print the bank details on the electricity bills of residential and CHS consumers whose bill is more than Rs 10,000. This consumer can avail this facility by using the virtual account details of MSEDCL given on their bill in their RTGS and NEFT application they submit to their bank. Also, the consumer can make payment only in the account number given on their electricity bill.

Direct payment link via SMS

The MSEDCL is sending a direct payment link via SMS to the low-voltage consumers to pay their electricity bills online. Payment link along with electricity bill amount, due date etc. is also being sent to the registered mobile holders. With this link, the concerned customers have the facility to pay their electricity bills directly through online.

Consumers who have not yet registered a mobile number with the customer number should send an SMS by typing MREG (space) (12 digit customer number) to 9930399303 from the mobile number which is to be registered. Apart from this, the mobile number registration facility is also available on the website www.mahadiscom.in or through the ‘Mahavitaran’ mobile app.
