Decrease in patients undergoing treatment

NASHIK: Although there has been an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients in the district over last month, there is also a significant increase in the number of patients recovering. As a result, the number of patients undergoing treatment is declining drastically. The third wave of coronavirus has possibly begun to recede.

The number of patients undergoing treatment five days ago had crossed 18,000, while on Sunday, there were only about 5,500 patients undergoing treatment in the district. Meanwhile, in civic limits, the positive patients’ ratio is higher, but the number of recovering patients is also high.

The number of patients undergoing treatment was above 11,000 and now; has reached 10,435. Even though the cases are declining, people are advised to adhere to the guidelines. The third wave of corona has spread in all the talukas of the district. However, vaccination of citizens and increased physical fitness have reduced the severity of the virus.

2403 patients recover, 957 new cases in district

As per the report released by Dr. Anant Pawar, District Nodal Officer, Civil Hospital, Nashik District witnessed a total of 957 new Covid – 19 cases on Sunday (January 30, 2022). With the addition of these cases, the total number of positive cases in the district rose to 4,65,279. As 2403 citizens recovered from the virus, the number of recovered cases in the district rose to 4,40,924.

Out of the 957 cases, 708 tested positive within Nashik Municipal Corporation’s limits, 214 in Nashik Rural, 10 in Malegaon Municipal Corporation, and 25 citizens of other districts tested positive in Nashik. Within NMC limits, the total number of positive patients rose to 2,67,499, while the recovery number touched 2,53,010. In Nashik Rural, the tally of positive patients till date rose to 1,72,131 while the number of recovered patients reached 1,63,254.

Speaking of Malegaon Municipal Corporation, the total number of positive patients touched 13,760, while the recovered tally reached 13,107. As five people succumbed to the virus, the district’s pandemic tally rose to 8,806. The recovery rate of NMC stands at 94.58%, Nashik Rural at 94.84%, and MMC at 95.25%. Citizens need to continuously follow SMS (social distancing, mask, and sanitation) to keep themselves and others safe from the virus.
