From buds to blooms : These cops nurturing rose plants ahead of rains

The coronavirus lockdown has mentally prepared the frontline warriors to be ready for all the hours be it doctors, nurses, health workers, police personnel and those associated with essential services. The lockdown on its positive side has also brought creativity out from these warriors on how to spend their time proactively and for social cause.

Due to the outbreak of coronavirus, there has been a lockdown situation in the country since March 23. In such a situation, police naik of city traffic branch (unit 3), Sachin Jadhav thought differently and innovatively and subsequently started planting rose plants in the premises of the traffic branch keeping in mind the concept of “sustainability out of waste”.

At the time when the mercury is reeling under 40 degrees Celsius and police personnel are on the streets performing their duties tirelessly, similarly various social organisations have also taken initiative to help these frontliners through all the available means. The water bottles were being served to the policemen on duty at Pathardi Phata.

This has created heaps of empty bottles and so the problem of what to do with these wasted plastic martial arose before the police. And thus the idea of ​​doing something sustainable from wasteful clicked in the mind of police naik Sachin Jadhav.

The traffic cop, with the help of police constable Sonali Bhalerao, decided to develop rose garden in the premises of the traffic branch during spare time. In their endeavour, Mahindra Upasani, nursery owner from Govindnagar Sagar Motkari, entrepreneur Kishor Gajjar and Girish Anand presented Chinese rose saplings while water management done by municipal tanker operator Sharad Borade.

In the meantime,  police personnel Jadhav and Bhalerao have planed about 125 rose saplings in the waste water bottles. With the onset of monsoon in the next few days, a beautiful garden is expected to flourish at the Pathardi Phata area, known as the gateway to Nashik city.
