Open tourist spots closed from today

NASHIK: In view of the safety of the citizens, open tourist spots in the district are being closed completely from 00.00 hrs on 19/01/2022 till further orders. District Collector Suraj Mandhare, who is also the Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, said as per the powers vested under Nashik Disaster Management Act 2005, and as discussed in the meeting held on 14/01/2022, open tourist places are being closed.

The tourist places being closed included Bramhagiri mountain, Anjaneri mountain, Dugarwadi falls, Harihar Fort, Pahine, Salher fort, Bhaskar Gad, Ramshej fort, Bhavli dam, Vaitarna dam and Gangapur dam area in Nashik rural district.

“Amusement parks, zoos, museums, forts and other paid places / events, local tourist spots historical places, forts and monuments, dams etc. in Nashik rural district have been ordered to keep completely closed,” the order stated. However, the District Disaster Management Authority has been given permission to close other open spaces.

Instead of keeping such open spaces completely closed in order to maintain the continuity of open space traffic in urban areas, it has been decided to ensure effective implementation of curfew and section 144 orders. It is also being directed that all the concerned departments should effectively implement the orders in such places in urban areas.

It also directed all the concerned departments to implement effective restrictions and section 144 in urban areas. This order shall not apply to police, government service officers/employees, doctors, as well as COVID 19 working officers/employees and emergency service vehicles. Under the Disaster Management Act 2005, if any person/organisation violates this order, they will be subject to punitive legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
