Universities to decide about final year law exams

NASHIK :

The Bar Council of India has taken an important decision against the backdrop of the situation caused by the coronavirus spread. All students studying in various law colleges in the country (except final year) will not need to appear for the examination this year. They will get admission in the next class without examination.

However, final year students will have to appear for the examination. A circular has been issued in this regard stating that it is up to all the universities to decide on the method of conducting these examinations.

According to a letter issued by the Bar Council of India, all students except those in the final year of the law degree course will be promoted on the basis of their previous year’s marks and current year’s internal assessment marks. The UGC guidelines will also apply here.

Once the colleges are started, the educational institutions which want to test the students who have been admitted to the next class will be able to test them within a specified period of time. If the student does not pass the examination, he or she will have one more chance to complete the degree again. However, the law degree will be awarded to the student only after the final session examination.
