NASHIK: Following the allegations against the then Commissioner of Police of Mumbai city Param Bir Singh by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamkumar Nipunge, there have been upheavals in the police force. Meanwhile, deputy speaker of state assembly Narhari Zirwal instructed to take immediate action over the complaint application filed by Nipunge and to submit a report to his office.
In a letter to the city Commissioner of Police, he mentioned that Nipunge is a tribal officer and he has given a complaint application to Adgaon police station and the office of the city Commissioner of Police. This matter is a violation of section 4 of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and instructed sent a report of the action to his office.
Shyamkumar Nipunge who is working as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in Nashik rural police force has alleged that he was named in an abetment to suicide case in the death of a lady constable in 2017 at the behest of Singh. While talking to media persons on Monday night, he claimed that Singh was upset with him when he refused to follow some alleged illegal orders when he was posted as Assistant Commissioner of Police (traffic) with Bhiwandi traffic police, between June, 2016 to August, 2017.
“A police inspector working in Narpoli traffic division falling under the Bhiwandi traffic police branch in nexus with Param Bir Singh got transferred there. He did not follow my order though I was Assistant Commissioner of Police. In addition, money was collected from vehicle owners and godown owners and he was angry as I intervened into this,” he claimed further.
Nipunge alleged that it was due to this reason, Singh got him arrested in the suicide case of constable Subhadra Pawar in September 2017, when in fact the woman had been murdered. Some days ago, she spoke to me over mobile about her work and personal difficulties and she was working in the traffic branch. Nipunge has submitted complaint applications in this regard to the Adgaon police station and the Commissioner of Police.
“The offence in connection with this has not occurred in the jurisdiction of the Nashik police commissionerate. Therefore his complaint application has been sent to the DGP office. In case of instructions by the DGP, a report will be tabled after the inquiry into the matter. The next action will be taken as per the instructions by the DGP.” – Deepak Pandey, CP
“Nipunge is working as DySP in Nashik rural police force, but he is residing in the jurisdiction of Adgaon police station so he submitted his complaint application with the Adgaon police and the city Commissioner of Police. Though I am head of the rural police force, any police officer or personnel is a common citizen and they can file a complaint about their personal matters.
