Ban film ‘Why I Killed Gandhi’

NASHIK: The movie ‘Why I Killed Gandhi’ has been released in cinemas and on OTT platforms in the state of Maharashtra. Nashik City Congress Sevadal’s city president Dr Vasant Thakur has demanded a ban on film. Dr Thakur has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The Chief Minister’s Office has taken immediate notice of this and Thakur has been informed by the Chief Minister’s Office that the letter has been sent to the Cultural Department.

The statement said that the film ‘Why I Killed Gandhi’ based on the assassination of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi will be released on January 30, 2022. The producer of the movie is supporting the killing of Mahatma Gandhi. On one hand people will observe silence, non violence on death anniversary of Mahatma. On the other hand, the film ‘Why I Killed Gandhi’ supports unrest, hatred and violence and it will be screened in movie theaters.

“It will strengthen the fascist attitude”, Dr Vasant Thakur said in a statement. It has been also said that the demand of Nashik City Congress Sevadal regarding ban on display on OTT platform should be accepted.
