NASHIK: Nashik Municipal Corporation’s city bus services are witnessing a quality response from Nashikities. The gradually increasing number of buses and routes has helped increase the footfall of passengers in the city bus.
The city bus services started functioning on 8th July 2021 to ease up travel for Nashikities. In July, only 27 buses were functional in the city. However, the number rose to 145 in December. The routes buses cover daily gradually increased from 8 in July to 40 in December.
A total of 11 routes were introduced outside the municipal limits to places like Trimbakeshwar, Sinnar, Saikheda, Girnare, Mohadi, Ojhar, etc., till December. On average, about 50,000 passengers travel daily through the city bus. A total of 35,51,000 citizens have availed of the city bus benefits since its inception. About 4003 citizens have opted for the pass facility and commute daily through their sanctioned passes.
The city buses generate an average of Rs.14,45,000 revenue in a day.Nashik Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited, the public wing of NMC, is leaving no stone unturned to provide adequate facilities to its passengers. From live tracking of buses to booking tickets online, the company has levelled up its services for Nashikities.
