Taking note of the service rendered in Naxalite areas in state like Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Gondia and Bhandara, Union Ministry of Home Affairs has declared Antarik Suraksha Seva Padak to former Commissioner of Police of Nashik and Special Inspector General of Police (IGP), Aurangabad range Dr Ravinder Kumar Singal. The list of awardees has been announced on Wednesday.
Central government is awarded Antarik Surkasha Seva Padak to those police personnel who have rendered their services for the prescribed period of two years in Naxalities affected areas like Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Gondia and Bhandara.
Dr Singal worked as Superintendent of Police in Gadchiroli, Gondia and Chandrapur in the period between 2007 to 2009 and 2009 to 2010. He also worked as Superintendent of Police in Nashik in 2004 and as Commissioner of Police till 2019.
