NASHIK :
On the backdrop of messages that went viral on social media stating easing of curbs and more powers to the district collector on relaxation of rules, district collector Suraj Mandhare has clarified that there is no relaxation in the lock down. He further said that the viral messages are not meant for Nashik district and that all the routine activities will continue without any change and as mentioned earlier in the rules of the lock down regarding relaxations and restrictions.
Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday (May 27) had convened a meeting of all the district collectors in the state through video conferencing and had delegated authority regarding lockdown relaxation. After that, a message that all salons and spas, gyms and markets will start operating across the district, went viral on social media.
The message, which was went viral in the name of the district collector, had mentioned, “resuming of taxi and rickshaw services, opening of shops, compulsory (100%) attendance at government offices, opening of gymnasiums but with physical distancing, permission to cold drinks, tea stalls, paan shops. Opening of cloth stores, readymade garment shops, shoe shops and jewellery market.”
The viral message had also allowed permission to conditional start of a salon. The condition was that the customer will have to carry his/her own towel and napkin. Permission to resume private offices, agricultural shops. The message which had gone viral had also warned that shopkeepers would be fined Rs 5,000 for any violation of the rules.
As a result, there was confusion among shopkeepers and traders related to the above issue. Seeing this, district collector Suraj Mandhare clarified that the viral message on social media was false and misleading and that no such relaxations were given.
The viral message was not given by the collector’s office. We have already given detailed instructions in the notifications. There is no change in all those suggestions and guidelines. This message should be ignored for Nashik only.
