Fake messages claiming that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) which is scheduled in July 2020, has been postponed have gone viral. The PIB has given an explanation about that and has said that the examination will be held as per schedule.A fake National Test Agency (NTA) press release related to the 2020 examination is going viral on social media.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) of the Central Government has given an explanation regarding this press release and claimed in the press release that the NEET examination has been postponed. The examination will be held in August. This claim is completely false. The under graduate (UG) examination, which is pending in May, will be held on July 26.
The examination was originally scheduled for May 3, but was postponed due to a lockdown. The examination is scheduled to be held on July 26.No notice of postponement of examination, stated the circular issued by NTA. The UG examination is held only once a year.
Students who pass the NEET examination gives the opportunity to get admission in recognized medical and dental colleges across the country. About 16 lakh students have applied for the examination this year.
The NTA has decided to change the student seating arrangements this year due to the Corona transition. Students will be kept a distance of at least 2 metres during the examination.
Before it used to be little more than a metres or a little less. This distance will be maintained according to the rules of social distance created by the Corona. Examination centres have also been set up for this purpose. Earlier, examinations were held at 3,000 examination centres across the country. This year, these centres have been increased to six thousand.
